I love to move and feel strong! My passion is to motivate women to see fitness as a lifestyle. I believe that being able to move and feel strong will help you feel more confident, lead to being and feeling more healthy and setting yourself up for a lifetime of functional fitness that will encompass your everyday life. I started Grass Roots Fitness because I wanted to start a community where fitness is a lifestyle and we can all be accountable to one another.

Kerry (RYT200) has been active her entire life, running, swimming, biking, hiking, skiing and engaging in other physical activities. She began doing yoga in 2004 to counteract injuries brought on by running and as an alternative to ice baths. She found that yoga brought benefits beyond the physical release of stretching, helping her to find calmness and grounding and deeper connection to herself. She looked for ways to deepen her practice and share her love of yoga with others. Kerry’s alignment based classes emphasize breath awareness and conscious intention to promote ease and stability in each pose. Her goal is to help her students find and maintain a peaceful mind and body, find balance both on and off the mat, and have fun with yoga.
Fitness has always been an important part of my life. During my younger years, I played soccer and basketball in high school, and then went on the play intramural sports in college. As a new mom, I brought my babies with me to Stroller Strides classes up until they each grew out of the stroller! I have three boys ages 10, 7, & 5 who keep me busy and active (on the sidelines). I believe that staying physically fit and healthy shows my boys how important both these things are to living a fulfilling life. I have been a fitness instructor for over 10 years, and I have always been passionate about inspiring women and mothers to feel and be their best!
While I have spent recent years training as an endurance athlete, training primarily for marathons and ultra-marathons on road and trail, I spent most of my formative years as a gymnast. I was a 4 year college athlete and competed as a NCAA Div I varsity gymnast at the US Naval Academy. There, I specialized in Rings, Floor Exercise, and Vault – training primarily with body weight exercises. I have always enjoyed teaching and l have a passion for helping people achieve their fitness goals. Let’s get stronger together! My classes will focus on high intensity training to improve core strength, agility, and endurance. We’ll primarily use exercises that leverage your own body weight, but will periodically add dumbbells, kettlebells, heavy ropes, or resistance bands help you increase your explosive power.

I’m a mom of two boys (7 and 5) and love running and yoga to keep me sane. I love running long distance and how my body feels releasing energy through the miles. On the flip side of running, I love the quiet energy of yoga. I have been doing yoga since 2003 as a way to relieve stress, develop strength, and quiet my mind.
I received my RYT200 certification in 2017. I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma and I noticed the benefits of yoga in helping my patients with depression, body struggles, and anxiety.
I also love teaching yoga to children and adolescents. Mindfulness with children and teens is so important. I have the fun opportunity of teaching once a month to my oldest son’s second grade class and watching them develop their balance and breathing.
I’m so excited to teach yoga at Grass Roots Fitness and help others find their calm, strength, and balance!
